Tiki Beach is Mangawhai’s first wellness club and day spa, presenting a mix of wellness experiences in a natural outdoor setting. Guests can book individual treatments, enjoy shared facilities, or gather with friends for longer sessions designed around connection and downtime.

 

Enjoy our premium Tubby Tub stainless steel spas, infused with kawakawa, lavender, and chamomile, plunge into the ice bath, then reset in the 80-degree heat of the Finnish hot stone sauna. Sessions can be enjoyed solo, as a couple, or in small groups. Bookings are done prior with our convenient online booking and secure payment options ensure a seamless experience.

Q: What is Tiki Beach?
A: Tiki Beach is Mangawhai's first wellness club and day spa — a boutique outdoor sanctuary set in a gently rolling rural valley with sweeping views out to the ocean. We offer Tubby Tub hot pools infused with kawakawa, lavender and chamomile, a Finnish Anu hot stone sauna, an ice bath, massage treatments, yoga, and bespoke wellness experiences. Every visit is designed to leave you genuinely restored.
 

Q: What facilities do you have on site?
A: Tubby Tub hot pools, Finnish Anu hot stone sauna, ice bath, massage hut, yoga, fire pit with Cape Cod chairs, viewing deck with umbrellas, changing room, bag storage, and free on-site parking.
 

Q: What temperature are the Tubby Tubs?
A: We offer a range of temperatures — from a gentle 38°C through to 40°C and up to 41.5°C for those who like it hotter. The ice bath is kept at 6°C. We can adjust temperatures if needed.


Q: How many people fit in the hot tubs?
A: Our Tubby Tubs comfortably seat 6 adults — though we hold the unofficial record of 8 for a particularly enthusiastic group. You're welcome to try.


Q: What type of sauna do you have and how hot does it get?
A: We have a Pure Sweat Anu Finnish hot stone sauna — built from thermally modified Nordic Pine with stunning panoramic windows. Temperatures typically sit between 86°C and 90°C. The split-level design lets you choose your heat intensity.
 

Q: What are the views like?
A: Gently rolling rural valley out to the east-facing ocean, with Little Barrier and Great Barrier Islands on the horizon. The tubs are surrounded by tī tree, flax, native kawakawa and incredible birdlife.
 

Q: Is the venue indoors or outdoors?
A: Tiki Beach is a natural outdoor setting. The viewing deck has umbrellas. The massage hut and changing room are covered. We operate in most weather — soaking in the rain is one of our guests' favourite things.
 

Q: Is food and drink available?
A: We don't offer a standard food menu, however for group bookings we work with an off-site caterer for food and drink including alcohol (via off-licence) — minimum 4 days notice required. Phone Amy: 021 121 4543.
 

Q: Do I need to book in advance?

Q: What does entry cost?
A: From $60 per person + GST for a 1-hour hot tub & $25 for the sauna and ice bath session.
 

Q: How long is a session?
A: Hot tubs are booked in 1-hour blocks; the sauna takes around 30 minutes. Massage durations vary.
 

Q: Can I extend my session on the day?
A: If availability allows, yes — just ask on the day.
 

Q: How far in advance can I book?
A: We take bookings up to 8 months in advance. If you have a date in mind, don't wait.
 

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS
 

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

Q: Are bookings refundable?
A: No refunds, but you can reschedule or regift your booking to someone else.
 

Q: What happens if the weather is bad?
A: We operate in most conditions. In extreme weather or a state of emergency, we'll reschedule you free of charge.
 

Q: What should I bring?
A: Your own towel, togs, jandals, and beautifully clean skin. Please don't bring your own food, drinks or alcohol.
 

Q: Is there parking and changing facilities?
A: Yes — free on-site parking and a changing room with bag storage.

Q: Are massages available?

Q: Is yoga available?
A: Yes — Tuesday mornings at 9am, $35 per person.
 

Q: Are other wellness experiences available?
A: Yes — we have 150+ practitioners on our books covering everything from Sound Journeys to Breathwork and Shamanic Plant Medicine. Contact Amy for bespoke requests.
 

GROUPS & EVENTS
 

Q: Can I book for a group, hens party or birthday?
A: Absolutely — this is our jam. We love groups and are very popular for girls' weekends. No minimum or maximum group size.
 

Q: Do you offer private hire or corporate wellness?

GETTING THERE
 

Q: Where are you located?
A: 193B Cames Road, Mangawhai — the property at the end of the drive with the Tiki Hut. About 60 minutes from the Auckland Harbour Bridge and 6 minutes from Mangawhai Village.

Amy - Founder 

Amy Calway, founder of Tiki Beach and director of Event Horizon, is a seasoned event professional with over 20 years of experience in events, media, marketing, and sales. She has been instrumental in organizing community events, including the Takapuna Beach Polo, aiming to make the sport more accessible to the public.

A seasoned yoga guide blending ancient Indian wisdom with modern Western techniques. She supports nervous-system regulation, energetic balance, mental clarity, and connection to personal purpose.  Offering Mindful Vinyasa (adaptable from strong to gentle), Empowerment Yoga, Yin, Yoga Nidra, and Crystal Sound Healing.

Hilary is devoted to sharing yoga as a vital pathway to balance, strength, and inner calm.  Her instruction is informed by a rich background in complementary modalities, supporting a holistic and intuitive approach that honors both body and mind. 

Her studies include traditional Thai massage, Thaivedic bodywork and Ayurvedic massage. These influences allow her to seamlessly integrate Ayurveda and restorative bodywork into her offerings.
